Membership Application to the Children's Book Guild of Washington, DC
The Children's Book Guild of Washington, DC, provides opportunities for DC-Metro area professionals in the field of children's literature to share and exchange information, ideas, and experiences about the creative process, issues of publishing and promotion, writing trends, literacy, and to learn from visiting colleagues in the field. Members of CBG include published authors and illustrators, librarians and media specialists, literacy and literature specialists, publishers, editors, reviewers, booksellers, scholars, non-profit organizations, and others.

We welcome DC-area professionals in the children's literature community who are interested in membership. In general, this is an organization for professionals who are established in their disciplines. If you are new to the field of children’s literature, we would be delighted to welcome you as a guest at our meetings. Qualifications for membership are listed here. The Children’s Book Guild is run by its member volunteers. All members are encouraged to attend at least three CBG events per year and expected to help out with CBG activities.

The cost of annual membership is $85, to be paid upon acceptance of your application. In order that membership fees pose no barriers to application, we offer scholarships to any members for whom this annual fee poses a financial hardship. Please note: Membership dues renew each spring, and are prorated depending on start date of membership for the first year. Payment will be processed at time of membership.
