The Door by the StaircaseKatherine Marsh’s forthcoming middle grade novel, The Door by the Staircase, has received a starred review from Kirkus, which noted that "Well-drawn characters, an original setting, and a satisfying resolution are the ingredients that make this carefully crafted middle-grade adventure a highly rewarding read." Planting ParsleyIn January, for the Jewish holiday Tu B'Shevat, PJ Library will mail Pamela Ehrenberg’s first board book, Planting Parsley (with illustrations by Constanze von Kitzing), to 15,000 two-year-olds in the U.S., Canada, Great Britain, and Australia. The book is shaped like a parsley pot and will be mailed with an accompanying packet of parsley seeds.

Samurai RisingGareth Hinds’s new book, Samurai Rising (written by Pamela Turner), goes on sale February 2nd. It is an action-packed historical nonfiction title about one of Japan's most famous samurai warriors, appropriate for 7th grade and up, and has received 3 starred reviews.
Bella's New Baby

Sue Fliesss Little Golden Book, Bella’s New Baby, illustrated by Violet Lemay, will be released January 12. When Bella hears she’s going to be a big sister, she pictures all the fun she’ll have with a sweet baby girl. But the new baby turns out to be a boy! Bella is disappointed at first, until she holds him for the first time and imagines how wonderful life will be with a baby brother.
