Sue Fliess’s book Books for Me! is on the shortlist for the Colorado Libraries for Early Literacy (CLEL) Bell Picture Books, which provides excellent support of early literacy development in young children. Awards will be announced February 5, 2016.
Picture Perfect by Jacqueline Jules and Rosa Parks by Kitson Jazynka are among the Finalists for the 2015 Cybils Awards, the awards given each year by the book blogging community for the year's best children's and young adult titles embodying the highest literary merit and popular appeal. The committee received more than 1,000 book nominations and selected Finalists in 11 categories, ranging from apps and easy readers to elementary/middle grade nonfiction, poetry, and young adult fiction. A new panel of judges will read the Finalists and ultimately select the winner to be announced on Feb. 14.
Karen Deans’ book Swing Sisters: The Story of the International Sweethearts of Rhythm won a Eureka! Nonfiction Children’s Book Award from the California Reading Association. Swing Sisters has also been nominated as a 2015 ALSC Notable Children’s Book.

Deborah Wiles's book Revolution, a 2014 National Book Award Finalist, has been named a Jane Addams Peace Award Honor Book. The award ceremony takes place in New York City on October 16, 2015.

Meanwhile, the Gingerbread Man’s newest adventure, The Gingerbread Man Loose at Christmas, has hit the shelves in time for the holidays. It has received three sweet-treat reviews from Kirkus, Publisher’s Weekly and School Library Journal.
Susan Stockdale’s book Spectacular Spots has been nominated as a 2015 American Library Association Notable Children’s Book.
The book also was named a 2015 Maryland Blue Crab Young Reader Award Honor Book in the Beginning Nonfiction category.
Katherine Marsh’s forthcoming middle grade novel, The Door by the Staircase, has received a starred review from Kirkus, which noted that "Well-drawn characters, an original setting, and a satisfying resolution are the ingredients that make this carefully crafted middle-grade adventure a highly rewarding read." The book, which comes out in January, was also recently named a Junior Library Guild selection.
