Features: Carol takes her audience through the journey of creating a science and nature themed picture book, including first ideas, sketches, finished art and printed book. During a presentation, her Keynote presentation is accompanied by pieces of original artwork and some of her tools. The audience will learn the importance of research in creating illustrations for a nonfiction book. Carol will talk about some surprising discoveries she makes while gathering research for her science and nature books. She ends her talk with Q & A and on-the-spot drawing, which she leaves with the school or library.

Carol also offers a session which includes working with students to create a book in the classroom. Each child writes and illustrates a page and the cover is a combined effort. This works best with smaller groups.
