|Fee:||$350 single session, $150 each additional session, travel expenses negotiable. I live in Milwaukee, but I travel to Maryland from time to time. Scheduling to the DC area is not a problem.|
|Features:||I take my audience through the journey of creating a science and nature themed picture book from manuscript to finished product. Students discover how I develop ideas, conduct research and create finished artwork. Examples of tools I use and some of the surprising nature facts I learn are part of the presentation. My Powerpoint slide show and original artwork contribute to my visual story. I end my presentation with Q & A and on-the-spot drawing, which remains with the class.
Another option is conducting a session like the first, but in addition I work with students to create a classroom book. I illustrate the cover and each child writes and illustrates a page. This works best with one or two classes and is equivalent to two sessions because of the time involved.
