Shenandoah University Logo Founded in 1875, Shenandoah University is located in historic Winchester, Virginia. Shenandoah has approximately 2,000 students, 119 full-time faculty and 144 part-time faculty. A low student-faculty ratio allows highly individualized instruction. The University is organized into five academic schools: School of Arts and Sciences; Harry F. Byrd, Jr. School of Business; Shenandoah Conservatory; School of Health Professions and School of Pharmacy; Nearly 60 Programs are offered with degrees awarded at the Associate, Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral Level.

Parents' Choice, a national, non-profit organization devoted to excellence in children's learning materials, has become an affiliate of Shenandoah University. The Parents' Choice Award Program Identifies for parents the year's best in all fields of children's media.

The University also sponsors an annual Children's Literature Conference. Teachers, librarians and undergraduate teacher education students come to the campus every July to study with nationally known authors and illustrators of children's books.
